SR113- Onesie Angel

Today's Stampin' Royalty Challenge is to make a card with no embellishments. This card was like torture for me. No embellishments is tantamount to using the colour purple for me...almost impossible and quite painful. ; )

ink: marina
paper: just add cale dsp, wwhite cs, marina cs, cchip cs
accessories: daisy #2 die, designer brads, modern label punch, dimensionals, black journaling marker

It'll be time for the next Dare to Get Dirty Challenges before I get all of myine posted from last time. LOL! This fold was from a video that Wendy Weixler did. Very cute!

I'm up to my eyeballs in the boys toy room today. It looks like a bomb went off in here so Mama is cleanin' up and OUT! I like to think that we don't spoil our kids but then when I see the sheer quantity of toys...*sigh*. Wish me luck! Ske-doosh.

stamps: maryse carrier, mini alpha (SU)
ink: black
paper: crumb CS, black CS, cosmo cricket PP, white CS
accessories: water colour pencils, black taffeta ribbon, black eyelets, black marker, dimensionals

Love. I love this card. On the inside it says, "...and I ain't lion". The challenge for the CCEE Team today was to make a card with our favourite zoo animal. I love them all so I chose one that would be good for this technique.  I'm a slacker. What can I say? Head over to the CCEE Challenge Blog and have a look at what the AHHH-tists made for your ogling pleasure. Have a great day! Ske-doosh.

CCEE1207- White Anniversary

stamps: something to celebrate
ink: grey
paper: white CS
accessories: jumbo eyelet, organza ribbon, linen thread, indigo and limeade markers,
timeless type junior alpha

This weeks challenge calls for white on white. You can use colour on an image and colour on ribbon. I had a  idea in my head when I started this card but it ended up taking a different route. As I was finishing it, Logan came downstairs and was watching me tie the ribbon. He was so cute as he tried in vain to read the letters. He's becoming quite the little reader so he looks everywhere for words. Love him.

Logan's Quest to be a Heart Hero!!!

As some of you may already know, my husband is a Physical Education teacher at Maclean Memorial School. He has been teaching at Maclean for 12 years now and for the last 9 of those years, he has had his students participate in the Jump Rope for Heart  fundraising program put on by the Heart and Stroke Foundation. They have raised thousands of dollars for the Foundation and I'm proud to announce that, this year, Logan is participating!

We have asked our friends and family to donate which has been a great experience for Logan. Now we're asking my blog readers (who are comfortable with doing so, of course) to donate as well. We'd love to raise as much as possible so if you'd like to help Logan , please visit his JRFH page on the Heart and Stroke Foundation site by following this link:

Be a Heart Hero! Please support my child in Jump Rope for Heart and help all kids grow up healthy where they live, learn and play.

I'm also looking into adding a PayPal donate button which will be placed on the left hand side of my blog.
Thanks in advance to any and all of you that choose to support my fave Heart Hero, Logan! Ske-doosh.

February Creative Challenges: CCREW0212DF- Keychain For You

stamps: apothecary art
ink: Pear Pizzazz, Basic Gray, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride
paper: rhred CS, white CS
accessories: labels collection framelits, grey satin ribbon, limeade organza, corner rounder, glassine bags, twitterpated fabric, grey corduroy fabric

After having made a few of these key chains with clasps from other key chains laying around the house, I decided to order some of the lobster clasps off of Etsy. I used the same tutorial from the idea room as I had before. I packaged it up using the new Framelits in the mini catalogue and a glassine bag.

I made this for a friend. Said friend could be enjoying it right now if I weren't such a postal procrastinator. (eyeroll) Ske-doosh.

February Creative Crew Challenges: CCREW0212HF- Woven À La Plage

stamps: certified
ink: black
paper: grey, black, and white CS
accessories: thickers chipboard letters, corner rounder, a buttload of ribbon, black marker

I've never tried weaving ribbon on this scale before. It was quite fussy to do but the results are worth it. It makes a nice and simple layout look like a WOW layout. Ske-doosh.

CCEE1206- Velentine's Brads

stamps: amour par definition
ink: craft white
paper: black CS, unknown patterned paper
accessories: black striped 1 1/4" ribbon, black brads from basic grey, corduroy button, white embroidery thread, white gel pen, corner rounder

I come back to this particular layout quite often when I have a paper that is bold and fun. It really let's the paper be the focus. I tried many variations with these brads combined with the button but they all came out kinda looking like a beady eyeball. Weird.

Head over to the CCEE Challenge blog to see what the ladies have come up with for this week's challenge. Ske-doosh.

Stampin' Royalty #110: Inspiration Photo- Pink Medallion

Here's the photo:

And here's my card:

stamps: medallion, belles tournures
ink: rose red, pink pirouette, regal rose, blushing bride, black
paper: confetti white
accessories: regal rose ribbon, black marker

To make the streaky look on the medallion image I tapped the ink pad in sections directly on the stamp. I wanted it to mimic the wavy curtains in the photo. What do you think? Success?

Head over to the Stampin' Royalty Challenge Blog to check out what the ladies have come up with using this beautiful picture as inspiration. Ske-doosh.

February Creative Crew Challenge- CCREW0212CF- J't'aime Pickup

stamps: des tonnes d'amour, je t'aime beaucoup
ink: marina, baja, turquoise, pacific, sahara, grey, black, rhred, rose, pirouette, chocolate, cocoa, limeade
paper: watercolour
accessories: stamp-a-ma-jig, black and rhr markers, blender pen

This card came together quite easily and the colouring was fun! I rarely use this set because of the colouring involved but I did this one at a leisurely pace while watching my new obsession, Bones. All 6 seasons are on Netflix and I couldn't be happier about it. It's a show that I watched occasionally on TV but I'm not good at keeping up with shows. Watching them on Netflix with no commercials is pretty close to bliss. Ske-doosh.

Catch up, Wiggins...

I'm kind of behind on my postings of projects. This one was the last project from the January Creative Crew Challenges. Seeing that the February challenges have already been posting for 3 days, I figured I should get on it, eh?

I'll be back tomorrow with the February challenge list, m'kay? Ske-doosh.

February's Squareheaded Pinterest Challenge- Failed Braided Pizza...

I thought I'd take a crack at a food pin this month. I have an "I'd eat that" board but I had yet to make anything on it. Isn't that the Pinterest way, people? Not anymore!! Partake in my challenges and you'll have the self-satisfaction of knowing that you are not only a Pinhead, but a Pinhead with Purpose!

I pinned this Braided Pizza recipe from Suzanne at Just Another Hangup. I sent my handsome husband out to the store to get the ingredients needed to make said Braided Pizza and he came back with everything except the Pillsbury pizza dough. He says he looked and there was none...I remain dubious. He is notorious for "looking" but "not finding" stuff at the grocery only to come home with "a better alternative". He's lucky he's hot or I'd have to hurt him.

Anyway, he came home with a package of Gattuso pizza mix in a sachet. It was really easy to whip up because it was a just-add-water bag but when it came time to braid my Braided Pizza...huge fail. Too soft, too sticky, too everything, you read me? So, instead of braiding, I just made a pocket which turned out to be an awesome calzone type dealy when it was all cooked.

It. Was. AWESOME!

The kids loved it and I'm sure it'll make it's way into our regular rotation of meals. Whether you use Suzanne's method or mine, this recipe is the shiz. Try it out for yourself or participate in this months challenge by making something else you've pinned! C'mon! You know you wanna! Thanks to all of you that participated last month. Ske-doosh.
