SASCRAP #30 on Stampin' Addicts

Here's 6x6 layout I did for the scrapbooking challenge this week on SA. The challenge is to use up those ribbon scraps! I swear, this is like my mantra lately. LOL! I have so many ribbons bits and pieces to use up...but I won't give up!!

I love this photo of Sky. I'm thinking of doing a larger layout of it just so I can fit even more thoughts that I think are going through his wee head. I'm sure there's at least one about grilled cheese samiches...Ske-doosh.

Happy Birthday, Stampin' Addicts!!!

Bonne Fête, Stampin ' Addicts!!! One year old and steadily growing! The site started out from a group of women that shared a passion for stamping and chatting and, by sheer luck, one of the women's husband happened to be a smarty pants about websites and forums. We whined, he listened and SA was born. LOL!

Thank-you, Angie and James Pegram for creating a site where I can hang out with my friends, learn new things, meet new people and share my art in an environment that is positvely SU! I can't imagine not having that connection in my life. I love you guys and appreciate all that you have done to make SA positively creative, positively Stampin' Up!

Wee Monkey

Another CAS card. Have you guys ever been to Renée Van Stralen's blog? She was recently featured in the Stampin' Success magazine (a demo only mag) and I found her projects very inspiring. She made a monkey card and I lurved it so I made a version for myself. Go and check her out and don't forget to go check out the Stampin' Addicts festivities this week! Ske-doosh.

Hello There Flowers

I'm really not the best at CAS (clean and simple) cards but I like how this one turned out. Stampin' Addicts was bubbling over with activities and challenges this weekend and this particular challenge was thrown down by The Tink. And when Jan Tink says use a stamp set, you use it. It hadn't even seen ink since I got it at Convention!

Head on over to Stampin' Addict to check out the rest of the festivities this week! Ske-doosh.

Beware Zombie Monkey

We're having a hoot over at SA this weekend! It's our 1 year anniversary and we've got a bunch of activities planned. Contests, a Stamp Jam and a Blog Hop! I spent the better part of my day stamping with my friends online yesterday. After I get the kidlettes in bed, I'll be doing the same thing this evening! Come check us out! Ske-doosh.

SASCRAP #29

Guess who the new scrapbooking challenge hostess is over at Stampin' Addicts? Yup, ME!!! My friend Paula is going to take a break for awhile so I'm taking over for a bit. She has set it up very nicely so I'm sticking with the formula that works:

Each month, four types of challenges will be offered:

The first Saturday of the month will be a layout sketch challenge

The second Saturday of the month, the challenge will involve a special topic or theme

The third Saturday of the month will be a mini album challenge (I ♥ mini albums)

The fourth Saturday of the month will be an accessory/product challenge

If there is a fifth Saturday in a month, then there will be some kind of special challenge.

So, come on over and check out our challenge forums! This mini album is Challenge #29 and I sincerely hope I can get a few of you to come and play! Ske-doosh!

SA sketch challenge #42

This is the card that I made for the sketch challenge from yesterday on SA. I'm trying to use up all my ribbon scraps without just pitching them in the garbage. Ribbon is one of my fave accessories and it hurts me inside of my me to throw it out. Hurts me inside of my me doesn't make sense, you say? Well, I'll let you in on an inside joke at our school. For those of you that don't know, my husband and I work at an English school here in Québec (which is a French province). A lot of our students are Francophones and English is their second language. They tend to come out with some pretty backwards expressions. Pete, the English teacher makes a point of writing these little gems out of the blackboard when the kids say them. He's even had a few made into t-shirts!

I'm sensitive inside of my me...translation- I'm very sensitive on the inside.

Are you on my purpose to make me wait?...translation- Are you making me wait on purpose?

Do womans our boss?.. translation- ummm...I actually just got off the phone with Pete to ask him what this one meant. He said, and I quote, "I have no idea what that kid was trying to say."

Love it.

Hey! Are you busy this weekend?? No? Great! Stop by Stampin Addicts and take a blog tour, do a challenge, or come stamp with us during the Stampin' Addicts Birthday Stamp Jam!! It's Stampin' Addicts one year anniversary and we'll be celebrating until the end of the month. Come check us out, dude! Ske-doosh.

Stampin' Addicts Sketch CHallenge #41

The minute I saw the SAB brochure this year, I zero'd in on these sweet houses. I think this is a stamp set I will never get rid of. So, of course, I had to use it in last week's sketch challenge on SA. It's a bit of a loose interpretation but it does the job.

Spring break is coming up for us at the beginning of March and I'm hoping to get a lot of stamping done. I've got ideas whirling around in my head but no time to put them to cardstock! This weekend there's a blog hop happening over on Stampin' Addicts! It is SA's birthday this weekend so the theme is birthday projects. The talent abounds so come check it out! Ske-doosh.

Stampin' Addicts Color Combo Challenge #42

This color combo of Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, and Kraft is the color challenge (sacc42) for the end of January over at Stampin' Addicts but there are many more to choose from. I'm making it a personal mission to start doing more of the challenges over there. It's a great site that is positively SU! Come and check out our challenges!

So, the stamp set I used (I can't remember what it's called in English...Spring Serenity, maybe?) is not my usual style but I'm trying to improve my coloring skills. Meh, it's cute but I kinda wish SU! would start selling Copics...LOL! Hey, a chickie can dream, n'est pas? ;) Ske-doosh.

a CASE from Heather Summers...

When I saw this card on Heather Summers blog (waving like a goofus...hi Heather!!!), I fell in love with it. So much so that I wanted to case it for my clubs this month. I really didn't change much because the color scheme was perfect. I just made it into an easel card. If you haven't checked out Heather's blog before, run, don't walk to go check it out! Ske-doosh.

So instead of stamping...

...I've been cleaning. I went through all the boys toys and am giving them to the daycare services here in town. I went through all my old swaps and 3d stuff, organized my scraps, changed some stuff around and now feel like I can breathe in my stamp space. Love it. Now, to get back to stamping!! Ske-doosh.

I'm around...

...but not stamping much. I'll be back this week with some new stuff. Ske-doosh.
