I'm on vacation!!!

I'm so stoked to be on vacation! I have a couple of workshops planned this week and a class to give on the weekend so my REAL vacation doesn't start until next week but it feels good to not have to rush out the door every morning. Skyler is a fully mobile kid nowadays. He keeps me on my toes as he is a climber. Logan was never a climber. The best thing about Skyler is that he really seems to get it when I say NO! He doesn't always stop doing what he's doing but he at least has the common courtesy to give me the look of shame. Something else that Logan never did. Logan had a look of sheer defiance on his face from the day he was born. Man, I love my boys.

Here's the end of the year project I made for the wee ones in Logan's group at daycare. There's one of those big round suckers inside. The kids at our school were selling them to raise funds for a trip to Cuba next year. I stepped up as the nice guy and bought 20 of them to make this sweet project. I'm really hoping to be able to post quite a bit more in the next few weeks. Don't give up on me!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Busy beaver...

I apologize for not posting lately. It's the end of the year at school and I can't seem to keep ahead of life. I'm going to be on vacation next week so when sweet Skyler is napping, I'll have time to create some new stuff. I've a hankerin' for scrapbooking and some ideas stored up in my head so hopefully I can post some interesting stuff for you lovely ladies. Don't stop dropping by!!! I will be back!

Happy Dad's Day!!

I hope everyone is having a great Father's Day today. Poor hubs is outside right now mowing the lawn. We've had a tonne of rain in the past few days so the lawn has grown like one big weed. They're announcing rain this week as well so he's not taking any chances given that it's semi-nice out today. See? That's the kind of selfless guy I married. Would you catch me mowing the lawn on Mother's Day? Hell no. So, here's to you, Philippe Côté! Happy Father's Day!!!

Retirement card?

One of the ladies at work asked me to make a retirement card. Of course I said yes. I'm a card maker, right? It didn't occur to me at the time that I don't have a retirement stamp set. D'ya think this'll pass the muster? I'll let you in on a secret...even if it won't pass the muster...TOO BAD!! It's the only one I had time to make! LOL! Gotta run. Thanks for stopping by!

Busy birthday weekend...

Yup. One year older. I turned 34 on Saturday and it was a great day. My boys pampered me and dear, dear hubs gave me perfume. Love it. We went to friend's place for supper on Saturday evening. My buddy Pete makes about the best darn spaghetti sauce you can imagine. Would you believe that there is bacon AND butter in it? My heart hurts just thinking about it. It's good but not something you'd eat everyday!
I gave Andrea Walford's Tart and Tangy class on Sunday and my customers just loved it! There's something truly satisfying about making 10 cards in one afternoon. The ladies walked out of here feeling like some kind of Card-Making Superhero!!! Click on the Demo to Demo logo on the left to check out the Tart and Tangy class.
This card started out as a hot mess but, in the end, I REALLY like it. After all of the positive, super-nice comments that I received from all of my blog visitors, I'm having a hard time fitting my swelled head through doorways and such. My husband keeps teasing me about being a Web star...little does he know that 2000 plus hits on a blog is FAR from being a web star. Beate Johns. Now THERE'S a WEB STAR!!! LOL! Thanks for stopping by!

Andrea Walford's Friday Featured SU! Artist!!!

I'm walking on cloud 9 today, ladies and...well, uhhh...ladies. I won't even try to flatter myself in thinking that I have any male readers on my blog! LOL! Ok, SO! I'm today's featured artist on Andrea Walford's website!!! I can't even begin to tell you what a huge fan I am of her work. She's a never ending source of inspiration for me. Her Class Planning Services have boosted my sales and made giving classes a joy. Check out her new site, Demo to Demo, by using the link here. You can also access Demo to Demo by clicking on the logo to the left of my blog. If you haven't already visited either of Andrea's sites, do so today! You won't regret it!

Thanks to all of you who gave me some great ideas on how to make white stand out on black CS for the post below. I swear, I'm about as bright as three a.m. sometimes. I didn't even think about white embossing!!! So thanks ladies!

I made this 5x5 card last night in the wee hours in anticipation of having a lot of visitors to my blog today. I feel like a rock star! LOL! It feels like a "springy" card. Living in the north of Québec makes spring take an ETERNITY to arrive. We're finally starting to get some leaves on our trees. We had a beautiful day yesterday but it's "basic gray" today. Maybe I'll carry this card around in my pocket and look at it every once in awhile! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by!

This card is my first foray into watercolor paper and I can honestly say that I have so much admiration for people that have the talent for watercolor!!! Don't get me wrong. I like the way my card turned out. It's just that I don't love it. This was one of those stamp sets I bought because I love the example in the catty but when you get your hands on it...hmmm...what to do, what to do? I'm disappointed with the way the "wish big" came out with the craft whisper white on basic black CS. If anyone has any pointers for me, let me know.

I stayed home from work this morning with a killer migraine so technically, I'm playing hooky right now. It's lunch time though so I'll be going back to work this afternoon. If anyone else out there takes Amerge for their migraines, let me know what you think of it as I took it for the first time this morning. I can't say I'm liking the experience. I've never been so groggy and dopey in my whole life! There's no way I could function normally while taking it. I may not be the sharpest bowling ball at the alley on a regular day but this morning? I was a DUMMY. Huh? At least it got rid of my migraine! LOL!

Re-post

I'm not liking the photo of the SU! page I did so I'm re-posting a close up. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Is it just because I'm in love with SU! products? Is it because my kids are unbelievably cute? Who knows? I just like it!!

I'm giddy with excitement!

I'm just going to quickly post a new page (here's my first attempt at an ALL SU! page...you likey, Marika? LOL!) and an old card that I made. I'm aware of the weird glare on the page. This is caused by trying to take a picture of something in bad light at 6 a.m. while kneeling on the floor in my bathrobe. Organization is not one of my fortes lately. My mom used to call me Brandi "Justaminute" Wiggins and I'm finally starting to realize that she may have been right all this time. Hi. My names is Brandi and I'm a Procrastinator. But, I digress. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say where else you may see these two projects posted this week so you'll all have to just wait and see. I can tell you that I'm really excited. I like to tell my husband that I'm mysterious...he likes to tell me that I'm a meat head. Same difference, right? ;) Thanks for stopping by!
